About the jewellery
The Maisy Chain brand was created in 2006 by self-taught jewellery designer, Jeanette House. A creative child with a magpie eye for unusual shells and stones, Jeanette's early childhood in the tropics gave her a deep appreciation for colour and texture. A love of stones initially led her into jewellery-making as a hobby but hobby quickly became obsession and Maisy Chain is the result! Maisy Chain jewellery uses mostly semi-precious stones, sterling silver and vermeil; as well as a plethora of other new or vintage materials that appeal to Jeanette on her searches for supplies. The jewellery is wire-wrapped, strung on specialist wire flex, or knotted onto vibrant cord or leather. Seasonal colours have an influence but Maisy Chain jewellery is not dictated by fashion; the combinations are intended to bring out the best features of the materials used, and the styles are classic with a modern twist. Jeanette aims to provide her customers with jewellery that is at once unselfconscious and beautiful; daywear pieces add polish and the elegant simplicity of her occasionwear adds wow factor. Carefully packaged with its own gift bag, each piece of Maisy Chain jewellery is supplied with an explanatory card so that you, or the recipient of your gift, will remember the names of the stones or materials used.
About the range
In 2008, inspired by her involvement with an international creative community, Jeanette decided to diversify the Maisy Chain range. The collection now includes fun, handmade fabric buttons made into pretty hair accessories, jewellery and gifts; colourful hair accessories and brooches created using gorgeous ribbons, tactile felt and other embellishments. Jeanette has also created a funky jewellery range using handmade felt beads; the felt beads, as well as the other handcrafted novelty gifts in the Maisy Chain collection have been carefully sourced and are produced by different artists from around the globe. Jeanette is also delighted to be collaborating with some of these artists to produce a variety of exclusive, one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewellery designs which will be available through Maisy Chain, subject to availability.
